Burials of Native Title Holders upon Kondaparinga Station

Mareeba Shire Council have confirmed that under Schedule 20, Subordinate Local Law No. 1 (Administration) 2018, Council can authorise the burial of human remains outside a cemetery. Furthermore, the State also confirm that it will raise no formal objection to burials taking place upon Kondaparinga Station.

Therefore, NNTAC and Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) are currently working on the application procedure which would allow applicants/families to obtain an approval for burials upon Kondaparinga Station.
